The Beautiful Birds of Jurong Bird Park

Jurong Bird Park is a world-renowned aviary and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore. Established in 1971, it is Asia's largest bird park, spanning an area of 49 acres and housing over 5,000 birds representing more than 400 species.

The park is divided into several zones, each offering a unique experience for visitors. The main attraction is the Bird Discovery Centre, which features a variety of interactive exhibits that provide insight into the world of birds. Here, visitors can learn about the different species of birds and their habitats, as well as their behaviour and feeding habits.

One of the most popular exhibits is the Waterfall Aviary, which is home to more than 600 birds from over 50 species. The aviary features a 30-metre waterfall and a large pool where visitors can see birds such as the hornbill, parrots and flamingos up close. Another popular exhibit is the Penguin Coast, which houses the world's largest collection of penguins outside of the Antarctic. Visitors can observe the penguins in their natural habitats, and even watch them swim and dive.

Jurong Bird Park also offers a range of educational programs and shows throughout the day. The High Flyers Show is a must-see, featuring birds of prey such as eagles, hawks, and falcons soaring through the air and performing incredible aerial acrobatics. The Kings of the Skies show features majestic birds such as the African Fish Eagle, Steller's Sea Eagle and the American Bald Eagle, showcasing their natural hunting and survival skills.

For a truly unique experience, visitors can also enjoy the Bird's Eye Tour, which takes them on a guided tram ride through the park, providing an up-close look at the birds and their habitats. The tour also includes stops at various exhibits and shows, giving visitors the opportunity to interact with the birds and learn more about their habits and behaviours.

Aside from its impressive collection of birds, Jurong Bird Park is also dedicated to conservation efforts and research. The park has a successful breeding program for endangered bird species, and has also conducted several research studies to better understand the behaviour and biology of various bird species.

Visitors to Jurong Bird Park can also enjoy a range of dining and shopping options. The park features several restaurants and cafes that offer a variety of cuisines, as well as souvenir shops that sell bird-themed merchandise and gifts.
